Bristol Virginia Officials Reverse Original 60 Dollar Solid Waste Fee

Bristol, Virginia City Council unanimously approved an ordinance that will lower the new solid waste collection fee from the first proposed figure of 60 dollars to 48 dollars. The original 60 dollars was initially approved to offset expenses at the closed landfill. City Manager Randal Eads says nearly 500 thousand dollars in American Rescue Plan Act funds will now cover the cost of new police cars, allowing city officials to move money around to make the reduction possible.
