Bristol Va. air quality monitoring continues
Landfill gasses remain a top concern for residents living near the now closed Bristol, Virginia landfill. As part of Bristol’s continuing effort to address those citizens concerns, the city says voluntary air sampling and monitoring will be continuing. The city is using an independent, third-party consultant for the monitoring, with experience in environmental public health, toxicology and human and ecological risk assessment. The city says it is planning to continue air monitoring until a geomembrane cover is installed over the landfill. Those reports are available online at bristolvalandfill.org.
