Students hospitalized after field trip rises to 8

The number of school children hospitalized following E. coli exposure last month has climbed to 8. According to Northeast Regional Health Office officials, four of those students remain under extra care do to complications from the exposure. A preliminary report from state health leaders says the children, who are from Sullivan and Washington counties in Tennessee, were exposed during field trips to the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray late last month.
