FBI Now Assisting In Bank Robbery Investigation

A Blountville bank is robbed Monday and now the FBI is assisting in the investigation. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department says the lone robber did not show a weapon during the incident at the BB&T Banking Center but instead handing the teller a note. The male suspect fled on foot and so far has not been seen. The suspect is described as a white male with partly balding, black hair with a black beard, wearing sunglasses, khaki pants, a black shirt and green jacket.Authorities are currently search for a gold colored Nissan Altima that may have been used for a getaway vehicle once the suspect left the bank on foot.
