Wildfires continue to burn in NETN and SWVA

Fire crews responded to several fires in the Hickory Tree area of Sullivan County on Thursday afternoon. The Hickory Tree Volunteer Fire Department responded to what they say are three separate fires. Several crews were called in to assist. Three distinct smoke plums were visible from the intersection of hickory tree road and river bend road. Multiple emergency vehicles responded to the three locations. Around the same time, crews in Greene county were working to put out a fire that prompted the evacuation of Mosheim Elementary School and West Greene Middle School.
