North Carolina deputy injured in Johnson County, Tennessee during pursuit
An officer with the Sheriff’s Office in neighboring Ashe County, North Carolina was injured after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Johnson County, Tennessee.
Sheriff Phil Howell said the suspect who crashed on McEwen Road is a known drug criminal and fled the scene on foot.
Deputy Jacob Pruitt crashed his unit while trying to avoid the other wrecked car and was knocked unconscious. Pruitt was treated for a concussion and released from an area hospital.
