Tennessee graduation and dropout report released
The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office of Research and Education Accountability has released a report on high school graduation and dropout rates throughout the state, which found Carter County schools ranking among the worst for dropouts. Carter County Schools had the eighth-highest dropout rate in 2021-22 with 15.1% which amounts to about 68 students. Another Northeast Tennessee school district had one of the lowest dropout rates in the state with Greeneville City Schools having the sixth-lowest dropout rate in Tennessee in 2021-22 at 0.5%.
