Several Southwest Virginia Communities To Share More Than A Million Dollars For Resource Officers
Several southwest Virginia localities will be sharing more than one million dollars in grants to help rural areas hire school resource officers. Richlands, Tazewell County, Wise County and Wythe County along with the city of Norton are each receiving tens of thousand of dollars in funding from a grant from the state to help secure school resource officers for schools in rural areas. The grant was awarded by the Criminal Justice Services Board.
