Five Northeast Tenessee Schools to Receive Nearly a Million Dollars for School Safety
Following assessments and subsequent recommendations from Governor Bill Haslam’s School Safety Working Group, five school systems in Northeast Tennessee will be receiving nearly a million dollars in funding to improve school safety and security.
Senator Jon Lundberg announced the decision in a prepared report. Some of the funding is going to develop a smartphone app that can be used statewide by students, faculty and and staff to report any suspiscious activitiy.
Kingsport City Schools, Sullivan County Schools, Johnson County Schools, Carter County Schools and Bristol, Tennessee City are the five school systems that have been granted funds
