Dehart appears in court, Preliminary hearing set for next week
Kenneth DeHart, the man accused of fatally shooting Blount County Deputy Greg McCowan appeared in court on Thursday morning. DeHart is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and felon in possession of a weapon in relation to a shooting in the 4900 block of Sevierville Road that left McCowan dead and another deputy injured on February 8. Thursday morning, the preliminary hearing for his case was set for Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. DeHart was captured at a home in Knoxville after a five day search.
