Kingsport Police Department conducting public survey

The Kingsport Police Department is inviting the public to take part in its citizen survey with the survey being conducted through May 29. The Kingsport Police Department conducts the survey as part of the department’s accreditation process through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The department was first accredited in 1992 and has maintained its accreditation for almost 32 years. As part of the accreditation process, a police department must be in compliance with nearly 500 professional standards with one requiring the department to conduct a documented survey of how the public perceives the agency.
