Carter County Sheriff’s Office looking for murder suspect
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office looking for another person in connection to a man’s murder after his body was found in a buried freezer. An arrest warrant has been issued for Jim Chambers of Elizabethton, charging him with first-degree murder. The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information on Chambers’ whereabouts to contact law enforcement and a reward has been offered.
Chambers is wanted in connection to the death of 64 year old Edward Elliot who was found May 15 inside a buried freezer in a remote part of Hampton. 46 year old Joey Guinn was arrested and faces multiple charges including murder and abuse of a corpse. Elliot had been reported missing on March 31, but family members said they hadn’t been in contact since late January. Witnesses claimed to have seen Guinn and Chambers beating Elliot during an incident in late January or early February. Guinn was arraigned on Thursday and placed on a $5 million bond.
