TWRA gets ready for busy Memorial Day weekend on area lakes

TWRA reminds everyone that this is National Safe Boating Week and officers are encouraging boaters to be responsible on the waterways over the upcoming busy Memorial Day weekend. Area lakes typically see increased traffic on holiday weekends and said that most boating accidents can be prevented. TWRA will have increased patrols over the holiday weekend and also reminds boaters that anyone born after January 1, 1989 requires a boater’s safety certification before operating most motorized vessels on Tennessee waterways.
