Man arrested after Monday shooting in Greene County
A man was arrested after a Monday night shooting in Greene County sent another man to the hospital. Greene County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a shooting at a home on Bear Hollow Road in the northern part of the county. When deputies got to the scene they found that 42-year-old Nathan Poe had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Poe was flown by helicopter to the Johnson City Medical Center and was reported in critical condition. The alleged shooter, 68 year old Claude “Junior” West, had fled the scene and was found by deputies in Hawkins County shortly after and was taken into custody. West is being held in the Greene County Detention Center on a $400,000 bond and is set to appear in court Wednesday to face attempted first degree murder charges.
