TWRA reports most BUI arrests over holiday weekend came from East TN
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says six people in East Tennessee were arrested for boating under the influence during the 2024 Memorial Day weekend which runs from 5 p.m. Friday through midnight Monday. There was one boating-related fatality that occurred on Watts Barr Reservoir when a 19-year-old man jumped off a boat and did not resurface on Saturday. The man’s body was recovered early on Sunday morning. That marks the eighth 2024 boating fatality in Tennessee. In total, 13 BUI arrests were made during the weekend.
