Jonesborough man charged with aggravated domestic assault

A Jonesborough man was taken into custody after his partner came to Washington County officers bruised and swollen.

Sheriff Keith Sexton said Joseph Vengchiem, 21, was charged with aggravated domestic assault after the victim said she was punched several times in the face by Vengchiem, attempted to strangle her, and pointed a gun and threatened to kill her and himself.

The suspect is currently out of jail after posting bond.
