Wise County residents can apply for FEMA Individual Assistance

Wise County leaders are encouraging residents to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance in the wake of Hurricane Helene. A release from the county Thursday is informing residents that FEMA assistance can provide financial aid for essential items, temporary housing, home and property repairs, vehicle and appliance replacements, and more. Those who would like to apply can do so online, or through the FEMA mobile app. People who have already filled out a damage report will still need to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance separately. Additional levels of support are being provided for Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise and Wythe counties, as well as the City of Galax.
