FEMA opens more Disaster Recovery Centers in region
A release from FEMA says the agency will open Disaster Recovery Centers Tuesday, October 22, in Greene County and Wednesday, October 23, in Hamblen County to help Tennesseans who had damage or losses from Helene. Center hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The Greene County the Center will be at the Greene County Courthouse Annex in Greeneville, and in Hamblin County at the Utility Commission Conference and Training Center in Morristown. A Center is also operating a the National Guard Armory/Unicoi Emergency Operations Center in Erwin. The release said additional Centers may open in other areas. The deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance is Monday, December 2.
