Sheriff: No threat detected after elementary student yells out a gun warning

The county prosecutor’s office is evaluating a case at a Buchanan County school where a juvenile yelled that a student had a gun while in the hallway of Riverview Elementary.

Sheriff Allen Boyd said faculty members were able to isolate that student and others so that officers could investigate. Searches of lockers and students in that section did not produce a weapon.

The sheriff said teachers and students were not in any danger during the incident.
