Child Abuse And Stealing Police Dog Gets Carter County Man 15 Years

A plea deal is reached and a fifteen year sentence is handed down to a Carter County man convicted of aggravated abuse, aggravated child neglect, and stealing a police dog is now headed to prison for 15 years. 21 year old Cory Scalf appeared in court on harassment charges involving child abuse and theft over ten thousand dollars. In the plea agreement, Scalf had the harassment charge dropped in exchange for a 15 year prison sentence and three years probation.
