Man sentenced for 2023 Bristol carjacking

A man has been sentenced to serve 377 months in prison after a 2023 carjacking in Bristol, Tennessee. 49 year old Charles Nile Mixon of Bristol, Virginia was sentenced Wednesday, convicted of multiple charge in October 2024 for Carjacking. The jury also found that due to previous convictions of violent crimes, Mixon was established as an armed career criminal. Following his more than 31 years of imprisonment, Mixon will be on supervised release for five years. Mixon carjacked a woman at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Taco Bell in Bristol, Tennessee, on May 24, 2023. He briefly held her at gunpoint in the vehicle before being pursued by police into Virginia. Mixon abandoned the carjacked vehicle and told a relative the next day about the incident, who then told police. Mixon was then arrested after another chase.
