Case Of Hepatitis A Diagnosed At Sullivan County Jail
A case of Hepatitis A has been diagnosed in an inmate at the Sullivan County Jail. Because of that, the Sullivan County Regional Health Department,in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Health is now following Centers for disease Control guidelines for the infection. Inmates are being offered free vaccinations as well as jail staff in an effort to prevent further infection of inmates and staff at the jail. Hepatitis A is a contagious liver disease. Symptoms may include fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, joint pain and jaundice.
