Northeast Tennessee Woman Steals More Than One Hundred Thousand Dollars From Non Profit
A Northeast Tennessee woman is headed to prison after admitting to embezzling thousands of dollars from two non profit organizations. Gayle Sicard Shapiro Green is sentenced to sixteen months in prison after admitting to a scheme which included forging the signature of certified public accountants who were never hired to audit the groups bank accounts. Prosecutors says over a ten year period, Green worked as a volunteer with the Kingsport Kennel Club and the Tennesee Basketry Association where she stole more than 116 thousand dollars which she will repay in restitution fees.
