TVA To Increase Release of Water Through Systems Ahead of Forecasted Heavy Rain
Heavy rains in the forecast have the Tennessee Valley Authority in a mad rush.
That’s because across the region, different places could see as much as 4 inches of rain, which will put a strain on all nine of the TVA dams. To counter this weather system, TVA announced through Twitter that over the next few days, they are releasing as much water as possible through their river systems.
One of the lakes that will be affected includes Watauga Lake, which is forecasted to rise 2-3 feet above normal summer levels, and this will help reduce downstream flooding.
