Police Searching for Suspect in Pharmacy Heist

One suspect is on the run and another is in custody after robbing an Abingdon pharmacy Friday morning.

According to the Washington County VA Sheriff’s Office, a man who had a large metal pole and claimed to be armed entered the Highlands Pharmacy off Exit 19 just after 9:30 A.M. The suspect jumped the counter, grabbing medication before leaving the scene in a get away vehicle.

Officers stopped the car and arrested the driver before the other suspect in passenger seat jumped in the car and drove away.

He is described as a white male with short red hair wearing a grey shirt with black sleeves and blue jeans. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
