Winter Storm Watch in Effect for Parts of Southwest Virginia
A winter storm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for parts of Southwest Virginia.
The winter storm watch is in effect from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday afternoon for Tazewell, Bland, Wythe, Mercer, Giles counties. There is potential for heavy mixed precipitation, including rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow.
McDowell and Buchanan counties may be added to the list. The storms affect will depend much upon the temperature which is expected to start out above freezing but dip below Tuesday night.
A winter storm watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
