Officer Hinkle Passes Away From Injuries Sustained in Saturday Shootout Near Blountville

Sullivan County Deputy Steve Hinkle has passed away from injuries sustained in a shootout Saturday in Highway 11W

A procession of emergency vehicles transferred the slain Hinkle from Bristol to Johnson City.

Hinkle was 65 years old and served the department for 27 years.

His death has shaken his fellow law enforcement commrades and the community.

The case remains under investigation.
