Kingsport Company Fined Thousands For Polluting North Fork Of Holston

A Kingsport company has been fined for polluting the North Fork of the Holston River. Vulcan Construction Materials is fined thirty thousand dollars in civil penalties plus nearly ten thousand dollars in damages for discharging what was called a severe amount of limestone particles into the waterway. Limestone deposits were found to be 15 inches deep in some locations of the river. Vulcan is cooperating with environmental regulators
