Autopsy Underway On Body Found In South Fork Of Holston River

An active and on going investigation is underway in Kingsport after a body is found in the Holston River near the community of Ridgefields. A fisherman discovered the body Saturday in the South Fork of the Holston River. Kingsport Police, the Fire Department and Life Saving Crew assisted in recovering the body. Investigators believe the body appears to be a male and an autopsy is currently being conducted at the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine to positively identify the body and to determine a cause of death.
