Sullivan Co: Budget Committee to Recommend Seven Cent Tax Rate Increase to Commission

Sullivan County residents could see a seven cent property tax increase soon.

The Sullivan County budget committee met Wednesday, and voted to recommend the rate increase to the full commission, which meets next week. The breakdown of the increase starts with two cents going for funding of school resource officers in all Sullivan County Schools, two cents for funding towards increased staff at the Sullivan County jail, two cents for raises for county employees, and the final one cent for funding towards emergency services.
