Fleming Leads Last Meeting…Alderman Approve 172 Million Dollar Balanced Budget
In his last meeting as Kingsport City Manager, Jeff Fleming guided city alderman last night as they approved on final reading a 172 million dollar city operating budget without a tax increase for city residents. The balanced spending document includes increases for entry level pay for city police officers and firefighters and more than two million dollars for paving city streets. City Manager Jeff Fleming is retiring this Friday after more than 30 years with the city. Mayor John Clark, Vice Mayor Mike McIntire and Alderman Joe Begley also attended their last board meeting before leaving office.
