Arraignment For Man Who Knocks Out Robbery Victim

A Johnson City man is to be arraigned this morning after being arrested for allegedly knocking a man unconscious during a failed robbery attempt. Johnson City Police arrested 61 year old Billy Ray Riley of University Parkway and charged him with attempted especially aggravated robbery. Riley is accused of striking the victim in the head with a blunt object, on Delaware Street, knocking the victim out. Riley then attempted to take the victim’s wallet and cash but was apprehended. Riley is being arraigned in Washington County Tennessee General Sessions Court this morning.
