Bristol, Va. Awarded $25,000 in Tourism Grant
Governor Ralph Northam announced that Discover Bristol received $25,000 from the Virginia Tourism Corporation Marketing Leverage Program grant fund. In total the VTC awarded more than $840,000 for 56 tourism marketing projects across the state. The funds will go to promoting Bristol through outdoor billboards along I-81, social media advertising, a CrowdRiff subscription to share user generated content, print ad placements, brochure printing and distribution throughout Virginia and Tennessee trade show participation. In 2016, tourism generated $54.5 million in revenue, supported more than 500 jobs and provided more than $4.2 million in state and local taxes for Bristol, Virginia.
