Kingsport Crack Dealer Facing Life in Prison
A Kingsport crack cocaine dealer who’s accused of shooting his son and intimidating withnesses could face a life sentence in prison. 50-year-old James “Boogie” Simonton was convicted of several charges, including conspiracy to distribute 280 grams or more of crack cocaine and witness intimidation. Simonton was arrested after two young men, one of who was his son, came to Indian Path Medical Center in 2016 with gunshot wounds. Simonton is scheduled for sentencing in June. He faces a minimum sentence of 15 years.
