Woman Charged With Abuse And Neglect, Infant Boy Receives Intentional Burns

A mother, whose infant son was found with intentional burns and other medical issues enters an Alford Plea on charges of child abuse and neglect. 27 year old Brittany Paige Sloan made the plea and acknowledged there was enough evidence that could lead to a verdict. Sloan and her boyfriend, 37 year old Robert Bradley Scott were arrested last August. Social workers found the 11month old with first and second degree burns to his legs and other body parts. Authorities say Scott was responsible for burning the child, and that Sloan knew of the abuse, but did nothing to protect her son. Sloan will be sentenced in June, while a court date has not yet been set for Sloan.
