Eastman Fined For October Explosion
Last month, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation announced a faulty valve was to blame for an explosion that rocked Eastman Chemical Company and the surrounding neighborhoods in October of last year. Now, after a second and separate probe, Eastman has been fined by the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration for four serious violations. The report states the chemical manufacturer did not establish and implement written procedures to maintain the faulty valve and fined the company 24 hundred dollars.
