SWVA man facing parental kidnapping and gun charges, waiting to be extradited back to Virginia

A Southwest Virginia man has been charged with parental kidnapping and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony after he was arrested in Georgia on Monday.

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office received a report of David Eugene Brewster 36 about a parental abduction on Orr Street in Big Stone Gap on Monday. Brewster was arrested the same day in Franklin County, Georgia. The child was taken into custody by the Division of Child Services in Franklin County.

Brewster is waiting to be extradited back to Virginia.
