Kingsport man dies from injuries recieved from head-on crash

After a head-on crash in Kingsport earlier this week, a man has died from his injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 22 year old Austin C Jones was driving his Volkswagen east on Carters Valley Road. He crossed the center lien of traffic and hit an oncoming car driven by 21 year old Chasity F Derrick of Kingsport.

Highway patrols say Jones was not wearing a seat belt, and it would have made a huge difference in the outcome if he had been. Derrick received non-life-threatening injuries.
