2018 Walter Reed Caravan

On November 7, 2018, volunteers from Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will depart Bristol, TN.  Our destination is Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.  The mission is to provide health and comfort items (aka “goodie bags”) to the 400+ U.S. Military personnel who are hospitalized at Walter Reed.  We plan to visit these brave men and women on November 8, just 3 days prior to VETERAN’S DAY 2018.  We need monetary donations and the following items:

• Toiletries (baby wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, disposable razors, first aid kits, Visine, Q-tips, travel size shampoo, soap, deodorant, Kleenex, sanitary products.
• Batteries
• Canned Nuts
• Beef Jerky
• Non-perishable foods and fruit cups
• Magazines, Books
• Chewing gum
• Powdered Single Serve Drink Mixes (Gatorade, Crystal Lite, Hot Chocolate)
• Protein Bars & Protein Powders
• Hard Candies
• Ziploc baggies, plastic ware containers
• Puzzle books, crosswords
• Combos, Chex Mix, popcorn
• Lip Balm
• Lotion / moisture
• Socks / t-shirts (different sizes)
• Blankets
• Robe / Bed jackets / slippers
• Notebooks / Pens
• Ready to eat tuna or chicken salad kits
• Girl Scout Cookies
• Unsealed personal cards and letters
• Granola Bars / snacks
• Games / cards
