Lee County Schools look into arming teachers

While it would require considerable approval at multiple levels, there is talk underway to arm classroom teachers in all of Lee County schools.

Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons says he has been approached by the school system about possibly arming teachers inside every school. This comes after county leaders learned funding wasn’t available for a school resource officer in every school.

Parsons says if its done properly, he could support the proposal of arming teachers in Lee County.
