Virginia Governor Appoints Chief Broadband Advisor To Assist With Rural Internet Access
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is appointing two advisors to help the Commonwealth achieve one hundred percent access to broadband internet in rural Virginia. Many rural areas in Southwest Virginia don’t have access to internet…mainly due to its high costs. The appointments of a Chief Broadband Advisor and Deputy Advisor will search for grant funds, work with co-ops and the private sector to find ways for all Virginians to have internet access. The advisors will also be addressing the issue of high cost internet in rural areas of the Commonwealth.
