Water Rate Hike In Store For Customers In Rogersville

A ten dollar and 78 cent water rate increase for Rogersville water customers will help pay for nearly two million dollars in system repairs and renovations…as well as a 67 thousand dollar water department deficit. Some of that deficit is attributed to more than three hundred thousand dollars allegedly stolen by former Water Superintendent Shawn Hatchett. On average, the current water bill for city residents will jump from 46 dollars to 56 dollars and 50 cents per month.
