Washington County, Virginia Driver Gets One Year For Fatal 2016 Crash

A Meadowview Virginia man will spend one year in jail after being sentenced in connection to a fatal hit and run crash in Washington County. Douglas Pruitt was convicted earlier this year in the death of 55 year old Laurie Puckett of Bristol, Tennessee. Pruitt was speeding on Highway 75 near Abingdon when he ran into the back of another vehicle, resulting in a head on crash with a third vehicle. Pruitt left the scene, then came back, and left again and was eventually arrested and sentenced on a involuntary manslaughter rule.
