East Tennessee Political Round-Up
Northeast Tennesseans helped elect republicans to the U.S. Senate, Congress and Governor office that were up for grabs in yesterdays election. Marsha Blackburn defeats Democrat Phil Bredesen is the most expensive political campaign in Tennessee history. Congressman Phil Roe won another term in Washington D.C. as he defeats democratic challenger Marty Olsen and conservative, political outsider, Bill Lee will succeed Bill Haslam as Tennessee’s next Governor…Locally, there were a handful of state represenatives races including Matthew Hill, Michah Van Huss, and Bud Hulsey all winning their contests. And finally, Jenny Brock was re elected to city council and John Hunter also won a seat on council.
