Johnson County Voters Approve Liquor By The Drink…Reject Sales And Use Tax
Johnson County Commissioners now must decide whether to implement an ordinance that voters approved Tuesday in a referendum that will now allow for the consumption of alcoholic beverages on premise and legalization of package stores in the town limits. If commissioners decide to put the ordinances in effect, the entire Northeast Tennessee region would have package stores. Meanwhile, voters narrowly rejected a sales and use tax that was being proposed through a referendum vote.
