Press Conference To Release Details Of Legislative Process For Proposed Resort And Casino In Bristol

A Three P.M. press conference is scheduled for today at the Birthplace of Country Music in downtown Bristol to release details of what it would take for the legislature to support a move to bring a resort and casino to the former Bristol Mall. State delegate Israel O’Quinn and Senator Bill Carrico will discuss details of the legislative process. Earlier this year, business leaders Jim McGlothlin and Clyde Stacy announced plans to seek legislative approval to bring the casino to the city, but that will require legislative approval for legalized gambling,something the legislature has never done before.
