Kingsport Leaders Seeking Additional Information From Ballad Health

When the Kingsport Board of Mayor and Alderman meet Thursday night in a special called meeting they will be looking for some answers about Ballad’s plans to downgrade Kingsport’s level one trauma center. In particular board members want to know the timeline of the Wellmont-Mountain States Health Alliance merger that created Ballad Health. Board members are also interested in hearing any questions the public may have concerning the current situation. Questions from the public can be pre submitted by visiting the City’s website. The public is invited to attend the meeting to observe and listen, but there will not be an opportunity for public questions or comments during the meeting that is schedule for seven pm at the downtown Kingsport Center for Higher Education.
