Mountain City Mayor Arrested For Obstruction Of Justice

Mountain City, Tennessee Mayor Kevin Parsons has been arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. According to a news release, Parsons was pulled over by police for speeding on highway 67. During the stop, Parsons was asked who his passenger in the car was. Parsons stated it was a friend. The passenger was actually Parsons’ brother in law, Kevin Cornett. Cornett is wanted in Johnson County and was arrested at the scene. Parsons was charged last night and says he is not guilty of the charges and looks forward to proving his innocence in a court room on March 20th.
