JCPD: Employee Thwarts Attempted Robbery By Refusing to Give Suspect Money
A thirsty New Hampshire man decides he wants more than he originally asked for from a Johnson City Pizza shop.
A report from the Johnson City Police Department says suspect 30 year old Steven Soucy entered the Italian Pizza Pub on West Walnut Street and asked for a cup of water. Soucy then told the employee to give him what was in the cash register, and the employee refused. Soucy also attempted to take the tip jar and the employee hid the jar behind the counter.
The suspect then threatened to physically assault the employee, who refused to give him any money before he left the store on foot. Officers later found Soucy at the Salvation Army, where he was arrested and charged with attempted robbery. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, and faces a court hearing Friday.
