Kingsport Man Faces Dozens of Identity Theft Charges
A Kingsport man is facing more than two dozen identity theft charges after multiple victims reported fraudulent credit card use.
27-year-old Adam Garland of Kingsport was arrested on Saturday after being charged with 27 counts of identity theft, 23 counts of property theft under $1,000 and five counts of fraudulent credit card use under $1,000.
The incidents of theft allegedly occurred between November 20 and December 5, 2018. Several victims were targeted.
Investigators say the credit cards were used at various locations in Johnson City.
Garland is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
